Welcome to my "Swan Song" everybody. After much thought I have decided that this is going to be the last issue of the Chatterbox. This wraps up 5 years and I think the timing is right, it has now run its course.
As most of you know, the main reason I started this was as a means for me to work out my anxieties about the family remaining close after Mom died. I can't be sure if this newsletter really helped anyone else in any way but I do know that it certainly helped me a lot. I guess I've gotten to the point where I feel that it has completed what I needed it to do, at least for me. With the advent of cheap long distance it seems that we are all talking on the phone a lot more than we used to, making this newsletter not quite as necessary as it used to seem.
We all hear so much these days about "Millennium Projects" and I have decided what mine will be. I want to revive the lost art of letter writing. I find that since I do the newsletter I don't write nearly as many letters as I used to and I think that now I would like to get back into
doing that. Some of you may or may not be hearing a lot more from me in the future than you'd like!
Thank you to everyone for all of your cooperation, encouragement and gifts of stamps or money over these last 5 years. These newsletters will remain on the internet at:

At the end of this newsletter I will be attaching a few submissions from family members that you should find quite interesting. One will be Terry's account of a trip that he, Judy & Daniel took to Disney World in July. Another will be Axel's story of the Western Canada Bike Tour. The third will be Wayne's version of the bike tour, which I have kept in the form of a letter he wrote to me. Enjoy!
We have a server that is set up with pictures. It has many of Axel's pictures from the tour and a lot of our pictures. Anyone who wishes to view it just go to:
shipping.accesscable.net
Once there, type uhl in the box at the bottom. Be sure to use all small letters, no capitals. From there, follow the menu. We hope to update it often.
