week vacation at Waskesiu July 18-25th. Carol might then be driving her folks to BC for a family reunion on her mother's side. Chris will be finished his term position at the University at the end of August and is hoping to continue working there in some capacity. It has helped him to learn a lot and he enjoys his work immensely. He has begun buying RRSPs and mutual funds to secure his future. Kelsey left for bible camp on July 12 for a week. Shortly after returning from that she headed to Halifax for a youth conference for several days. She has been busy working at Luther Tower to raise spending money for these trips. They are both busy, as usual. Besides her job at the Home, Sharon has been painting the deck (she fell off once!!) and is going to start hiring herself out to wash walls for people in town. She has planted hundreds of perennials around the yard. Larry's business has been busier than usual for summer. He planned to pour the concrete for the garage in mid-July. |
Amber has some skin problems and is receiving laser treatments. She passed into Grade 10. She has been on two organized trail rides with her horse this summer and is planning another. Dylan passed into Grade 7. He recently caught a 1st prize fish - 10.5 pound jackfish, 33 inches long. It now hangs on his wall. He has sold his motorbike and is riding a larger one now. His dream is to have an all terrain vehicle. Sharon says he can keep dreaming. Larry & Sharon will have new neighbors soon. The people who were living in Mom & Dad's old place had to sell due to a family illness that kept them in the city. The new people will be raising sheep. I'm sure the local coyotes are very excited about that. ![]() Don had some sewer truck problems in May. The tank on his old truck imploded. (Better implode than explode considering what he keeps in there!) Don & Trudy were involved in the Southey car show again. It drew good crowds despite some rainy weather. Danielle's grade 12 grad was June 26. After grad the class went on a trip to the |
Churchill River for some whitewater rafting. Nicole had another good year in track events. She entered 7 running events and took 6 firsts and 1 third. At the division meet she won all 5 events, setting 2 records in the 100 & 400 meter. At the district meet in Saskatoon she entered 5 events, getting 2 firsts, 2 seconds and a third. She is too young to go to provincials. Nicole was also baptized and confirmed in June. Justin will be baptized on July 19th at Last Mountain Regional Park with a full submersion in the lake. Don figures that it will "take" better if he gets completely wet! Our move to the new place is complete and all went well. We much prefer our new location. We decided to get a new car to go with the new digs so we now lease a '98 silver Lumina. Roy finished his contract with the college and is doing his own business out of our home again. No more commuting and he has multi projects lined up. I haven't been doing much besides preparing for, then recovering from, my surgery. I seem to have a new hospital visit to announce in every newsletter. Maybe this will be the last one. Go to Page 5 |
