the sudden death of a good friend early in the New Year.
The whole family has been quite busy with their usual work and play activities.
Carol is as busy as ever with her work. Allan had a couple of house sales going on right around Christmas. They did their usual visiting around the Weyburn and Strasbourg areas over the holidays.

Dylan is healing well after his injury. Sharon has picked up a lot of extra hours and has been very busy at work, including doing some of the cooking for the senior's home. She had to work over Christmas so Larry, Amber & Dylan went to Dad & Evelyn's for dinner. Larry & Dylan have been curling together and Amber spends much of her spare time looking after her horse. They have a new pet in their family, a female Shepherd puppy named Cheyenne.
As I expected when I finally heard from them, they've been busy! All the usual - Don is always on the truck, the school bus or the internet. He also still has his credit union activities too. Trudy also drives bus, as well as driving the kids here and
there. Danielle helps with that though now that she has yet another car of her own. Don bought a new (used) school bus this year, he currently has 31 kids on his route.
Danielle & Aaron (her boyfriend) were in the school Christmas play. It's a graduation fundraiser. She is also taking piano lessons.
Nicole is still very active in sports - sprints & hurdles in summer, Tae Kwon Do all year round. Also cross country running, volleyball and basketball. She missed a lot of time in the fall due to a sprained ankle. She is also taking piano lessons and is in her final year of confirmation.
Justin is in Tae Kwon Do again this year and is also in Cub Scouts. He took a year off from piano lessons. He was involved in a class project at Christmas. Rather than exchange gifts the class "adopted a family" and he was one of the lucky ones chosen to help deliver the food and gifts. He also likes to spend time on the computer and helps his Dad take apart the cars and fix things.
This year they stayed home for Christmas and Trudy's folks came up from Pangman to visit with them for the holiday.

We lost our beloved poodle, Dixie. She died peacefully in my arms on Nov. 3rd, nearly 14 years of age. I went to Skate Canada held in Halifax from Nov. 6-9. Had great seats and enjoyed the whole thing. Sharon & Kathy Ferguson saw me on TV while Elvis was skating.
The story I wrote was published and I received some copies of the book just before Christmas. I will be sending copies to Dad and all the siblings. Anyone who wishes to buy it, I imagine it is in the regular book stores. It is "Tiny Steps Stories" ISBN# 1-55056-554-0.
We had a very nice Christmas. Susan, Rob & Alex were over Christmas morning and stayed for the big meal. Later we went to visit our Nova Scotia family, Michelle & Kim and had another Christmas dinner with them. I also spent several hours on the phone talking to nearly the whole family.
We received a wonderful Christmas present when we phoned Axel & his parents at their home in Siegen on Christmas Eve. We have been invited to return to Germany as their guests this summer. Axel was here for a few days in January and we made some travel plans.
