Cory was injured at work near the end of October when an electric pallet jack ran over his foot, ripping off his large toenail. Ouch! He was off work for a couple of weeks.
Jackie was laid off from Harvest again in November when they closed their doors. She picked up some hours at SarCan. Just before Christmas she was hired on full-time to work in the City Hall cafeteria. She enjoys it there a lot.
Brandy is officially full time at her job now and is quite pleased with that, though she has been looking for something better.
Wayne is currently between jobs but has been using the time to work on the house. Still no specific "finish date" (they don't want to jinx themselves).
Denise has been very busy with her babysitting work and even made enough money at it to buy very nice Christmas gifts for her whole family. She is also busy with a lot of school activities.
Their family was out at Dad & Evelyn's for Christmas dinner.

Diane has been busy learning about her new responsibilities as a town councilor. She is loving every minute of it.
Frank was lucky enough to go to the Grey Cup game in Edmonton. He has been a Toronto fan all of his life (dropped on his head as a child??!!) so it was a great opportunity for him. Even better when his team won! He was interviewed by CBC about being the only Toronto fan in a sea of green & white. He also got a "high 5" from Donovan Bailey when he ran off the field.
Gerry has decided to curl again this year and is having a great time curling with Frank.
Niki recently took up piano lessons. She gave her first recital before Christmas, which was attended by all her grandparents. She performed extremely well. As Dad told me, she looked perfectly at home with the whole thing, not the least bit nervous. She has also begun doing some of her own composing. There is no question that this girl has more of Gerry's side in her than Diane's! She was also involved in Arrhythmic gymnastics this year and loves to skate.
The whole family, including Gerry's Mom, Ida,
went to Edmonton for a week just after Christmas. They spent the week at the West Edmonton Mall, staying in the hotel there and enjoying all the activities. They spent a night in Saskatoon on their way back and had a visit with Allan & Carol.

This column was contributed by Axel. He is interested in talking with anyone through Internet Telephoning. Now he talks to Roy & Jo-Anne quite regularly that way.
Axel's folks, Otto & Inge, are on the web. They can be reached at:
O.Uhl@wolnet.de
Their store is on-line at:
www.truro.nscc.ns.ca/uhl/salon (courtesy of Roy allowing Axel to put that stuff on the server he maintains) Jurgen (Axel's brother) is now at: juhl@de.ibm.com
And whoever wants to invite Delia, who would give everything except for the money she's lacking for a stay in Canada, may send her an e-mail at:
harder@hf.et-inf.uni-siegen.de
Harder, that's her last name, but definitely not because she's making life harder or something. It doesn't have that meaning in German anyway.
