I would like to use this space for a couple of "Thank You" topics. First, I thank Alexander Graham Bell for inventing the telephone. It sure helps to bring the family closer during holidays. I was able to speak with nearly everyone and it was almost like being there. Being far away from the family at Christmas certainly has some drawbacks but the telephone makes all the difference. My second thank you is to the Canadian military. Because we have military folk in our family, I wanted them to know how proud I am of the military for the good work they have done in Quebec & Ontario during those terrible ice storms. It brings the country closer together and surely helps the spirit of patriotism. As I write this I wonder if Trevor was one who was called out. I will let you know when I find out. Rather than writing the "Missing Link" this time to give you news of Axel, I am instead enclosing a guest editorial written by Axel, "The German Front". I hope you all enjoy it. Remember, I welcome any contributions, except controversial subjects.

Terry & Judy Terry had a good bit of time off over the Christmas holidays. They did some visiting with good friends on Christmas Eve and talked to Jeanne & Fred in Regina. Terry & Judy remain convinced that Daniel has some sort of influence over Santa because, as usual, he got a ton of gifts. They report that Yellowknife has also had a lot less snow than usual this year. There is some, but less than half what is usual. Early winter was very mild but it has finally become cold again. Susan & Rob Susan & Alex went on a tour of the HMCS Yellowknife, the Canadian Navy's newest frigate. They were invited, along with Roy & Jo-Anne, for a personal tour by the captain who wanted to show his ship off to former Yellowknife residents. Alex had a great time, arming the cannons and doing all sorts of neat stuff with all the cool computer equipment. Susan is completely over the early problems with her pregnancy. Her ultra
