Phil Phil did leave Nova Scotia at the end of July. He spent a week driving his motorbike across the country and started back to his old job where he was recently made supervisor. Joy & Reg They're still waiting to get their postings sorted out for next spring. They hope to know their future by Christmas time. They also entertained Axel while he was in B.C. in August. The rest of their time is taken up with looking after their growing family. Trevor Trevor's best news is that he was presented with a medal for his tour in Somalia in 1992/93. It was presented to him by the Vice Chief of Defense. Congratulations! Trevor's team finished in 2nd place nationally in the shooting competition in Ottawa. In August he started a 6 week reconnaissance patrolman course. When that was finished he went into a military free fall course. He has recently become a Quarter Master so he is more concerned with logistics than anything else at the moment. He will be in this position for two years. He expects to go to Yugoslavia in late June '98. In the meantime he is enjoying life in his new home near Petawawa on the river. |
Carol was out to visit his new place in August and also got to meet his new girlfriend, Hillary. Trevor & Hillary surprised Allan & Carol by meeting them in Ottawa while they overnighted there on the way to Halifax. Sonya Sonya also entertained Axel while he was in B.C. They went walking on her favorite beach and discussed their philosophies on life. She has been having an argument with the Employment Insurance people about her benefits. So far, Revenue Canada is winning. She has gone back to work part time in the office at the club where she used to hostess and that has been working out quite well. She has also temporarily moved home with the folks. Steven & Meredith They were unable to get to Sask in August as planned. They were busy moving into their new home. They hope to get there soon so Meredith can meet the family. Meredith plans on doing some regular baby sitting for Joy & Reg. Steven has made application to the Air Force and is waiting to hear about that. |
Irwin & Joan became grandparents to a red haired boy named Levi this summer, thanks to Robyn and her husband Tim. Bridget got married this summer as well.Fred & Edna enjoyed their summer. They spent a lot of time picking their berries and other garden produce, then canning and pickling everything in sight. Fred built a new gazebo (also known as "The Pavilion") in their backyard this year. They always have various kids and grandkids in to visit. Cousin Wes Brevig has a new job. He is now with the City of Calgary, involved in the computer end of things. Wes, Karen & Kim were home to visit his folks in April, their first trip there in a long time. When you change jobs it's hard to get a lot of good vacation time. Karen is enjoying working part-time at a "San Francisco" store and Kim, who is nearly 13, is having fun at her new school where she did very well in drama. If any of you go into any bars that play NTN (the satellite trivia game), watch for top score initials of BREVV. They've finished in the top 10 in North America many times, taking first place once. Update on Kim. At Go to Page 3 |
