Even though there are many subjects that I could discuss, it seems that this may be a rather long newsletter so I will keep my comments brief. (Yes, I am capable of that, Jim!) This past quarter was "family time" for me again since I visited Sask in August. Continuing in that theme, Axel also visited and, as most of you know, he had problems (which will be discussed in Missing Link). His parents were grateful for all the help given him and I quote what they said to me in a recent letter. "It was so nice to know that your family took care for Axel, especially after his accident. He is happy (and we, of course, too) to become acquainted with such a big and nice family and I hope and we would be very glad, to keep in touch with all of you. Perhaps some of your family will visit Germany, it means our house." Axel and his parents are very grateful for the help and support he was given by his Canadian family. He told me in a recent e-mail that he cannot imagine spending his holidays anywhere but in the Alps or Canada.

Terry & Judy
They haven't been doing much away from their house this year except for the odd camping trip. Mostly they've been working on their yard. Digging post holes to put in a fence is a big job when you live on a rock! They did get the fence built and then had to truck in
several loads of topsoil which Terry spread mostly by himself. They plan on planting grass next spring. Terry spends a lot of his spare time on the internet, talking to Brian when he can.
Susan & Rob
They are expecting another baby on May 21 of next year! Susan has been feeling quite yucky and even spent a night in hospital recently. Rob has been picking up the slack around home and is also still working a lot of hours. They bought a new car recently, a Ford Escort wagon. With an expanding family they needed something bigger. Alex is fine, spending as much time as possible playing with diggers, watching full size diggers and talking about diggers. He plans to be a digger operator when he grows up. What a surprise!
Susan flew to Yellowknife in October to spend a few days with her Mom when her stepfather died. There was a lot to do to help out. While there she called a few old friends and squeezed in a visit with Terry, Judy & Daniel.
