Susan & Rob As usual, they're a busy family, juggling jobs with family time. Alex had his first dental appointment to get his teeth cleaned and a teeny little filling done. What a great kid, he thought the whole thing was a blast! A great relief for his Grandma Jo-Anne who works for the dentist! Rob continues to be lucky whenever he "plays the slots". Just the other day he put in $10 and walked away with $100. Walking away is the trick, that's why he's so successful at it! Phil Phil was in hospital for a few days in May for what appeared to be appendicitis. When they operated in the middle of the night they discovered that his appendix was perfectly healthy. They took it anyway. The source of the problem was a twisted fat pad!!?? What's a fat pad you ask? And more to the point, what is a fat pad doing on someone as slim as Phil? Apparently we all have them. One thing we do know is that when they become twisted they hurt a lot. He has also decided to head North again. Born and bred there, he can't get it out of his blood. He finds our part of the country much too warm and much too busy for his liking. A position came |
open where he used to work and they offered him the job so he heads back mid-July. Joy & Reg They've been a busy little family with 4 children now. Reg took some time off work to help Joy out for a few weeks. Their biggest problem this past spring has been the weather. With so much rain it's hard to let the kids play outdoors, which is where they want to be. Andi will be in Grade 4 in the fall and Brandi-Lee will be in Grade 2. Both of the babies are doing well. Sammy weighs 12 lbs at 3 months and is sleeping through the night at least some of the time. Courtney is becoming used to the "competition" and is adjusting okay to having a new baby as the centre of attention. Joy's friend, Barb, who is known to most of us in the family had another baby as well. Clarice Marie was born on May 21st. Reg & Joy are now "on the net" like so many others these days. On Page 5 I have an updated list of e-mail addresses for everyone. Trevor Trevor has been very busy with his competition in Ottawa and has spent a lot of time there. He also moved into a new apartment in July on the Ottawa River near |
Petawawa. He has vacation time coming in August and plans on having friends come to visit from Saskatchewan. Sonya Sonya spent a week in Nova Scotia visiting Roy & Jo-Anne from June 16-23. She was given the usual "tourist tour", including a trip to PEI. She particularly enjoyed the older architecture and the slower pace of life. She was very interested in the history and would like to return some day to explore more. She finished her contract with Revenue Canada in June and expects to be renewed in February. Steven & Meredith They plan a driving trip to Sask during August to visit the family. It will be nice for everyone to meet Meredith. They plan on sharing a home with Jim & Maryann in July.
Brian & Heather and family moved to Lethbridge, Alberta late in April. Heather's brother lives there and Brian was able to find work right away. They were home at the end of June to visit family and help her parents move into a new home.
