Joy & Reg Joy & Reg will continue to be posted in Chilliwack until March of 1998. After that, who knows? Joy has been very busy keeping up with 3 youngsters while pregnant with the fourth. That fourth one finally arrived on April 19th. (See separate announcement) Reg figures that since he now has 4 daughters he will one day be father to his own women's curling team. He figures Jim can coach them on to the Canadian Championships some day. Reg planned to take a couple of weeks off after the latest birth and Maryann planned on spending a few days helping out too. Trevor Trevor told me that he had a great time in Sask over Christmas. He spent quality time with his family and also got in a few days of skiing and snowboarding in Montana with friends. On Feb. 17 he headed down to Georgia for 10 days of shooting exercises, obstacle courses, jumps and other related fun army stuff. In mid-April he headed down to Fort Drum, N.C. for similar exercises. He will be on the shooting team competing on April 26th. If they win they go to Ottawa again for international competitions. |

Ardys & Ed's daughter, Lex, was in the Canadian Precision Skating Championships held in Halifax in early March. She was here for a week, skating on the Saskatoon Express team. They took 3rd place in one of the events. She called me to let me know when they would be skating their long program. Very interesting stuff and quite pretty to watch.Dale & Sandra Bakken were in Saskatchewan visiting family and friends for Easter. They were later stranded in Manitoba during the big blizzard there on the way home. I am very happy to report that Reinhold & Grace are living together on the farm again. Wilf called me in March to bring me up to date on him and his boys. Wilf is feeling better since his health |
problem landed him in hospital. He also reports that Sam is doing much better again and has been taking a computer course. Ken and Tom are both doing well and they all try to see each other often. He also hears from Terri & Shawna regularly.
Jake Hubick passed away early in March. Many in the family will remember that his daughter, Velda, was one of my closest friends all through school.The musical group that Johnny Schaeffer plays with was nominated as Volunteers of the Year. They went to Fort Qu'Appelle to receive a certificate.
Bev and her girls moved into a different house in Earl Grey over the Easter weekend. The house they were renting was sold.
Axel spent time in New Jersey on business and attended a Java conference in San Francisco.He recently bought a motorcycle and that was a story and a half! He has been Go to Page 3 |
