Diane, Gerry, Frank & Niki all went on vacation for a week in early August to Bismark & Minot. They had a nice time, the kids did a lot of swimming at their hotels. When they returned, Frank left for a week to go to his usual summer camp.
Frank & Niki are both back at school, getting into the routine. They hoped to go to the U.S. again in October with Ida but it depended on whether they were able to hire more help in the store.
Most recently Jim had the sad task of driving to Regina to attend the funeral of his longtime close friend, Alec Volman. Alec died on Sept. 29 at age 73. It was made worse by the fact that he drove through a heavy snowfall that blanketed Calgary right through to Regina.
Jim has also been taking some computer courses. Now Steven doesn't have sole control of their computer.
Maryann has been working steadily and has been extended until June, working the day shift.
Jim has a message for one family member, "Yes, peanuts do grow underground." You know who you are.
Sonya is still working full time and is also taking courses in computers and marketing.
Steven recently broke up with a long time girlfriend and has been exploring some of the other "fish" in the ocean.

They've both been very busy painting, etc. for various people. In September they were doing the renovations at Gerry & Diane's station.

Allan & Carol spent some time vacationing in Waskasieu, golfing, etc. They attended a Hansen family reunion, also in the summer.
Carol's family had sudden bad news when a couple of their relatives were killed in a car accident in late August. It was quite a shock for their whole family.
Allan has been quite busy with real estate, always an open house or a property to show.
Chris has gone back to university for the fall. His job finished in August. He had hoped it would be permanent but the company did some fancy restructuring and closed the Saskatoon office. He could have gone to the Regina office but opted to go back to school instead and look at the whole thing as just being a super great summer job.
Kelsey is back in school as well, she's on the senior cheerleading team and is still in the band and the drama club.
Carol is still singing with Solstice. They have a gospel concert on Oct. 26 and a jazz concert coming up as well.
