Wendy & Dick! It turns out that Wes & Karen are building a new home just a few blocks from where Patty & Art are building. No excuse for those cousins not to keep in touch now!
Wendy, Dick & Chris had a busy summer. They went to the Moose Jaw Air Show, then to the rodeo in Elbow. They also attended Wendy's highschool reunion at Rowan's Ravine. That was a lot of fun for everyone. There were over 30 of her classmates there. They did a lot of camping too - Douglas Park, Emma's Lake near P.A. and Rowan's Ravine. Wendy & Dick are both back at work now and Chris has started Grade 9.

Axel has been visiting North America again. He was in Rochester, NY for several weeks in Aug. & Sept. While there he hopped a flight from Toronto to Halifax and spent a weekend with Roy & Jo-Anne. He has also been spending some time going out with a young woman in NY named Larissa. She emigrated to the U.S. from the Ukraine several years ago with her mother. She works in an electronics store and met Axel when he came in to shop. Axel recently won a billiards championship for his
province in Germany. He would have liked to compete against the other provincial champions but had to decline because the tournament was going to be held when he was in North America.
I felt that it was about time that I wrote in to share my feelings on our newsletter. This paper has been around for almost 2 years now and I think it is a wonderful paper. Our family looks forward to receiving it every 3 months. Since the paper has made it to international status and has been such a great success, I feel that you alone should not be financially responsible for the newsletter. Therefore, I am suggesting that there be a yearly subscription put in place to help ease the cost of putting together the paper. We enjoy it so much we want you to keep up the excellent work!!!
From: Joy & Reg Francis and family of Chilliwack, B.C.
Editor's Note:
I thank you for the kind words about the newsletter. I must point out to you though that I feel amply repaid for the work I do. Many of you have made it
very clear to me on several occasions that you truly appreciate what I do with the newsletter. The costs for putting it together are minimal. My biggest input is time and since I don't live near my family, spending time with all of you, the time I put into this newsletter is a labour of love for all of you. Besides, when you receive a prestigious award like "Editor of the Year", who needs money?
They were very busy late in the summer & fall doing canning and pickling from their garden. It turned out to be a very good yield this year. They had planned on a trip to Winnipeg in September to visit Sharon & Wally. Wally's mother was ill in the hospital though so they decided not to go.
They have been quite busy with weddings, showers, etc., so they haven't had much idle time.

Jackie is still working at Buddy's but has been starting to look elsewhere too. Renovations are coming along (and coming along, and coming along ......). The proper windows are now in and fitting well. It's just a
