![]() Jackie & Wayne have spent many weeks in turmoil since they began renovating their house. It seems to have gone on forever. It is taking longer than anticipated (what a surprise!) and there have been a few glitches with windows in the wrong places and a few major changes needed. The estimate was wrong as well so costs overran what they expected. Isn't renovating fun? They've been renting a teeny little house across the street and expect to move back into their own house early in Jan. All is fine with everyone in the family other than that. They spent some time at Dad & Evelyn's over the Christmas holiday. ![]() Always on the run as usual, this family. Frank came down with the chicken pox the first week of Nov. He was completely covered but it wasn't itchy! Can you imagine? He was just over that when he came down with the flu. Niki was feeling left out so she got the chicken pox and the flu too just as Frank was recovering. The flu didn't go away as fast as Frank's so the doctor thought |
she had mono, but considering that she has insomnia that seems unlikely. Gerry also got the flu while all this was going on and for a change Diane was the healthy one in the family. She was getting pretty sick and tired of being surrounded by people who were sick and tired. They had a busy Christmas, visiting both families. They also bought a second hand 1995 Dodge Caravan recently, green in color. (Isn't that the color of money??) ![]() Sad days in their household this fall when a couple of well loved family pets died. First it was Bear on Oct. 25, then their cat, Jacky (I'm taking liberties with the spelling, I'm sure "our Jackie" will appreciate that) died in late Nov. Attached you will find an obituary for Bear and a poem that Jackie sent me quite some time ago when Mac died. I thought it might be appropriate and certainly many of us can identify with it. They weren't long without a dog. They went to the pound and managed to find a purebred Norwegian Elkhound named Lucky. The way he chews up everything in sight they are beginning to |
see why he was in the pound. His real name should be Lucky - To Be Alive. Maryann was visiting in Weyburn in Oct. Jim then decided to drive to Calgary with Joy & Sonya. The girls attended a Reba McEntyre concert while he visited Barb. Jim was also in Nanaimo recently and found out that Sam & Roberta no longer have a restaurant there. Word is that they've moved to Victoria. Sonya attended the Grey Cup festivities in Regina in Nov. ![]() Business was the pits for them this year so they decided to take a sabbatical. They headed down to Sask. for the winter where they are visiting around with various relatives on either side of the family. (Yeah sure, they probably just wanted to live in a warmer climate for the winter) They plan on heading back to Yellowknife in May. They talked to Terry and family on Christmas Day. As this went to print they were staying with Art in Regina. Barry & Jean live downstairs in the same building so they get to see a lot of relatives while they're there. Go to Page 5 |
