hers! She was tested in June and is currently a green belt with blue stripe. Justin celebrated Trudy's birthday in an unusual way. He knew that his Mom is always upset on her birthday anyway so he decided to give her something to be upset about when he broke his collarbone at school. (See Injury Dept for more details) It didn't stop him from taking his piano lessons though. All 3 kids in the family participated in a music recital on June 11. Don & Trudy were busy with the Southey car show again on June 24th weekend. The kids all stayed with Jackie in Regina. Don has acquired an interesting antique radio to add to his collection. He bought it from Don Renwick who had bought the contents of a store that closed in Regina. On the back of the radio the date - April 10, 1948 is carved along with the name Uhl. When Wilf saw it he immediately identified it as having belonged to Grandpa! Don is also now in the "Porta Pottie" business. He has purchased two portable outhouses and will be renting them to people to use at outdoor activities. |
![]() Jo-Anne has been glued to the phone for the past few Saturdays. Unitel has a summer promotion where you can talk long distance for free on Saturdays. It's been great for getting news for this newsletter. We had some excitement when Dixie was hospitalized with an anal gland abscess. I could get pretty descriptive here but I won't just in case someone reading this is eating. Use your imagination. The abscess broke and the vet said after the operation that it was the worst one he has ever worked on. Judging from the size of the bill, he's probably right. We also had company for a few days in June when our friend Darlene came over from PEI. Jo-Anne actually took a few days off work for this! Roy has been busy with the usual computer related business activities. ![]() Wayne has been taken on full-time at the job he's been at for years now. Not long after that he ended up out on a Worker's Comp injury. He is scheduled for a number of medical tests and in the meantime has gone back to do some training on |
dispatch duties instead so that he can at least work at something rather than be home on compensation. Jackie & Wayne are building a basement under their house and doing a few other renovations. It will require the house being jacked up for a period of time so there will certainly be a lot of "upheaval" for a few days. The kids are all busy with the usual summer time activities, glad that school is done for another year. ![]() Diane & Gerry are as busy as ever at the store. So much to do and so little time... Frank is very involved with baseball again this year so Diane has been taking him around to a number of tournaments. His batting has improved steadily over last year and the team is doing well. Niki has decided that she is everyone's little buddy and can be found in nearly any house in town doing some visiting. I guess she's DiGer Service's "roaming ambassador". Growing up in the store is making both Niki and Frank very comfortable with all kinds of people. Sound familiar? What a great experience for them. Go to Page 6 |
