Wes, telling him about all the family, where we all are, etc. It was rather a long message so by now he's probably sorry he asked.![]() The Strasbourg Cemetery was the scene for the internment of Werner's ashes on May 21st. It was pouring rain that day but many family members attended the short service. He is buried in the same area that many of our family members are in. The service was followed by a gathering at John & Elsie's house. ![]() Bev & girls plan on going to Winnipeg for a week in July to visit with Sharon & Wally. It's always a nice vacation to go somewhere that you can swim in a pool and see some different sights. ![]() Trevor & Emily announced their engagement at Allan & Carol's anniversary party. They plan to be married on July 20th next year in Pembroke, Ont. For a little background on Emily, her name (for now) is Emily Seck. (A good German name) She has 2 brothers |
and 1 sister and grew up in Pembroke. She plans to attend Algonquin College in Ottawa this fall, taking a 3 year laboratory technician course. Allan & Carol's 25th was quite a success. Following is the description of it, contributed by Carol. June 17th was the date picked to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary (actual date was the 13th). The first guests to arrive were Trev & Emily from Ontario. It took almost an hour and a half for Carol to spot the sparkling diamond on Emily's left hand. I plead "being busy trying to finish a number of jobs around the house and yard" for not seeing it sooner. We were very pleased - she's a lovely young lady. Some of the Hansen clan arrived Friday - Ole, Evelyn, Brenda, Mike & family. Also 2 Uhl families - Don, Trudy, Larry, Sharon & kids. We visited in the back yard under the 20x20 tent with Ole's patio lights shining. Saturday morning was muggy - it had rained overnight. On the way back from breakfast at David's, the clouds started rolling in and the rain poured, but thankfully only for 20-30 minutes. The sky cleared, the sun came out and the people started arriving. Frank, Evelyn, Jackie, Wayne, Diane |
& Gerry and their families and Reinhold & Grace joined us in the afternoon. Sherry & girls, Darlene, Brian & family also helped us to celebrate. During the afternoon and evening we hosted 120 people in the backyard. Out of 120, 93 people stayed for supper - and we had enough food! We had lots of fun, lots of visiting, no head table or cutting of cake. Just family and friends to help celebrate the completion of 25 years.![]() I can't believe that I've had to start an injury department but there is just too much to tell. Justin & Dylan have always had a lot in common. Each is the only boy in his family. They're only 1 year apart in age and their birthdays are both at the end of August. You would think that would be enough for them but no - they decided it would be fun to be injured together too. It seems that it was Justin's idea, at least he started it. On Trudy's birthday he broke his collarbone while rough housing at school. He's a pretty tough kid and didn't let it get him down. His right arm is in a sling of sorts. Dylan must have decided it looked like fun because he had a mishap with his go-cart on Nicole's Go to Page 4 |
