also looked up an old school friend who he hadn’t seen in over 40 years. Since returning home we have very much
enjoyed getting back into a routine again. I
flew home at the end of June for 9 days of Strasbourg Homecoming and
ReUhlion
Light. I enjoyed seeing so many family
members, some of whom I don’t see very often. Here is a
picture that Reinhold took of Michele and I together for the first time
in years.
Susan, Rob, Alex
& Erica are still leading very busy lives. Rob recently
got his motorcycle licence and bought a new motorcycle to
celebrate. He will be able to commute to work with it and it will
be much easier on gas than their truck is. Erica switched
to a different after school program, where she spent her summer.
Her best friend Renee
goes to the same place and they had a great summer
together. Now she is all involved in her gymnastics lessons
again. Alex
spent the summer with various grandparents and friends and
had a wonderful time. Susan continues
to be very busy at work but enjoyed taking some time off over the
summer and having a couple of visits from her Mom who
came to visit from Newfoundland.
Jackie
& Wayne took the motorbike out for the annual CF charity run
at the end of
May. They were out again for the annual
St. Victor’s run on Father’s Day
weekend. Wayne has had a lot of medical
issues to deal with
recently. He found out he has become
diabetic
so he’s been remaking his lifestyle quite a bit, including kicking the
Pepsi
habit. He also was diagnosed with
Sarcoidosis in May. That is a lung
disease that usually causes people few problems, pretty much a chronic
condition. He had a biopsy late in June
to confirm the diagnosis. They spent
time in the summer getting the garage sided and shingled.
Jackie put in a lot of extra hours in the
booth when Jeanne went to Yellowknife on vacation. They
have a part-time person who helped spell her off a bit.
On Aug. 21st they hosted a family
and friends potluck barbecue with 48 people showing up.
The day before Jackie’s birthday in
September Wayne took her down to Moose Jaw for a night at the spa. When they returned the next day there was a
surprise birthday party for her.
