Don & Trudy were very busy leading up to the Strasbourg Homecoming.  They spent a lot more time in Strasbourg than they did at home for all the days of the homecoming and enjoyed having all 3 of their kids with them.  They were involved in a number of things there, including the fashion show.  Now aren’t these a couple of snazzy outfits!

Danielle was also home from Calgary for some vacation time during the Homecoming. We managed to get in a couple of visits while around town that weekend.  Justin graduated from high school and has been working for Lance in his computer store.

JO-ANNE & ROY BRANCH

Since the last newsletter we have just been enjoying Roy’s renewed health.  We get out and walk nearly every day for 2-4 kms.  Roy is fully back into his work again and has been very busy. There doesn’t seem to be any lack of contracts for him and I guess we can call that “job security”.

He tries to focus more on enjoying himself too so he isn’t “all work and no play” anymore.  We had our grandson Alex here for 3 days of the week in the summer.  He and Roy love to play some computer games together and he fits in very well with our lifestyle.

We had a great day at a Heritage Village out of town where Alex found out how they used to cut wood in the “olden days”.

I went with our friend Marge to see Prairie Oyster perform at the Halifax Casino at the end of July.  Roy & Jo-Anne went out to Peggy’s Cove on the long weekend in August to play tourist.  Had great fun crawling around all over the rocks and eating delicious chowder at the restaurant.

We had Chris here for a visit for 9 days later in August.  We had a wonderful time together, taking him to many tourist spots, including a tour of the Cabot Trail in Cape Breton.  Just a few days after he went back to Saskatoon, we got in a plane and flew to Vancouver to attend Sonya & Nick’s wedding. That was an absolutely lovely time.  We enjoyed meeting Nick's family and spending time getting to know them.
