This picture is one that Chris took and more beautiful pictures can be found on his web-site:  http://uhler.smugmug.com/  Sonya and Nick went to Cuba for 10 days for their honeymoon.  On their first full day there they were starting to do some snorkeling when Sonya inadvertently stepped on a fish or a stingray of some sort.  She felt a great pain in her foot and saw blood.  Naturally, her first thought was, "Shark!!"  When they got her to the beach the life guard told them to get to the doctor immediately.  She already had a black “ball” on her foot and black spreading up her ankle to her leg.  They gave her an anti-venom injection, as well as pain killers and who knows what else.  She still isn’t sure what she stepped on because it was hard to be fully understood between their broken Spanish and the locals’ broken English.  I expect her broken Spanish wasn’t terribly coherent at the time either.  While there, they were chatting with a Canadian who works in Cuba on a project.  During their conversation they found out that this guy lives in Fort Sask., coincidentally right across the street from Joy & Reg!

JEANNE & FRED BRANCH

Jeanne & Fred have continued to be quite busy.  Jeanne spends a lot of time in the lottery booth and Fred continues to do a lot of handyman work for relatives and neighbors, including monitoring Art’s blood sugar on a daily basis.

They had some company at the end of June when Terry, Judy, Daniel and Shelby came for a visit in their motorhome.  Jeanne & Fred returned to Yellowknife with them in the motorhome and had a great visit there, flying home on July 19th.  We got a great picture here of Fred & Danny fishing together at Yellowknife and they actually caught something!

Jeanne & Fred were in Bulyea for the homecoming on the long August weekend as well as going to Strasbourg on the July 1st weekend for their homecoming.  Jeanne & Jackie will be celebrating a full year of owning their lottery booth on Oct. 6th.

Terry, Judy, Danny and Shelby (the dog) had a great journey in their motorhome in June when they drove down to Saskatchewan for a visit.  They managed to visit all sorts of family members there.  Also, Judy’s sister Ruby drove up from Ontario with her husband, Greg, to visit with them in Regina.  It really was meeting each other half way because Ruby & Greg drove 2410 kms, while Terry & Judy drove 2440 kms.  They camped together just east of Regina. Terry, Judy and Daniel took Jeanne & Fred back with them for a visit.  Fred helped them do some home renovations while he was there.
