The wedding was that evening and the next day Evelyn and Sharon were at the gift opening.  They had company again at the end of June when Jo-Anne came to stay for several days and Sharon came from Winnipeg again as well.  Jo-Anne attended much of the Strasbourg Homecoming festivities and Sharon attended the Earl Grey Homecoming festivities.  Dad & Evelyn managed to attend some of both.  They had tickets to the Earl Grey Beef Barbecue and were joined by Jo-Anne, Reinhold, Elsie and Fred.  They attended the burial service for Grace that was held in Strasbourg on July 5th.  They had company again for the long August weekend when Jim & Maryann came to attend the Bulyea Homecoming.  Later in September they made one of their semi-regular cemetery runs where they check out a lot of the smaller country graveyards.  They had good weather and made a very enjoyable day out of it.  They may go on another before fall is over.

JIM & MARYANN BRANCH

Jim closed the doors to his store late in April; just not enough foot traffic in the neighborhood to keep it open.  Jim drove to Vancouver for Uncle Ed’s memorial service on April 30th.  He stayed with Sonya &Nick while there.  Jim had a wicked flu for several weeks, which kept him pretty much out of commission.  He started feeling better in June so he and Maryann were able to go to Innisfail to spend time with Reinhold while Grace was sick in the hospital.  Not long after that, Jim got a fulltime job driving a parts delivery truck for the auto salvage company where Reg works.  He is very much enjoying the work and not having the heavy responsibilities of being a business owner. Jim & Maryann went to Earl Grey area on August long weekend to enjoy the Bulyea homecoming festivities.  They headed out to Vancouver late in August.  They did some sightseeing and worked like mad helping with Sonya & Nick's wedding preparations.

Steven, Meredith & Journey were in B.C. early in the summer.  Steven is back at work full-time again.  They drove out again for Sonya & Nick’s wedding where they were both attendants in the wedding party.  They had a big birthday party on Sept. 25th for Journey to celebrate her first birthday.  There were about 20 people there.

Joy has continued to do a lot of traveling for her job.  She was training people in the Yukon just before heading to Strasbourg area for the July 1st weekend with Sonya and the girls.  Shortly after her birthday in July she headed to Trenton for several weeks to conduct some training out in the field.  She wasn’t really looking forward to that because it would be going on right up until shortly before Sonya & Nick’s wedding.  Hopefully, it will get her out of the Afghanistan rotation that she was expecting to go on in February next year.  While she was gone Reg purchased a Mazerati, which he located in B.C.  It looks much like Jim’s except for the color of the interior.

Sonya & Nick were all caught up in wedding plans through the summer.  Sonya was in Edmonton to visit in July and down to Strasbourg as well.  The wedding took place on September 4th and was well attended by family and friends, all of whom raved about how lovely everything was.
