Jim & Maryann have spent a lot of time doing small renovations around the house in preparation for putting it up for sale. They’ve been installing laminate floors and doing all sorts of odd jobs. Jim recently helped Trev get some new furniture for his new home in Edmonton. They had a lot of company in their home over Christmas and went to Joy & Reg's home for their big Easter meal.
Joy spent most of the winter running around all over the West teaching courses to the Reserves. She was in Vancouver in January, then Calgary early in February and then in Edmonton. While she was in Calgary, Reg joined her while Steven, Meredith and Journey stayed with the girls. Early in March she headed to Regina (where Jackie hosted a pot-luck) and then to Winnipeg. She had the flu during part of that time so it wasn’t all fun. Andi and her boyfriend, Joel, are still together and working at rival pizza places. Brandi is involved in the School Council and Young Life Youth Group. She’s doing well in school and can hardly wait to start high-school next year. Courtney is doing well and enjoying Grade 3 while Samantha has kicked it into high gear and really done well in Grade 2. Joy and Reg had Trev to their place for his birthday in March, then helped him move his new furniture into his home the following week.
Sonya and Nick spent Christmas in Edmonton visiting both their families and working on wedding preparations. January was very busy for them with studying and work. Nick went to Whistler for a weekend of snowboarding with friends. February disappeared in a big hurry because it was more studying and exams. Nick’s birthday was at the end of February and they celebrated with friends.
In March they had a great time going to a Chinese restaurant with friends so they could have fresh Alaskan King Crab, something that is very time limited and only once in a year. They all gorged themselves on food and wine and had a great, long visit. They met up with family from both sides in March, meeting with Kelsey and Carol one weekend for breakfast and Sonya’s cousin Kim and her husband another time.
Steven
and Meredith just celebrated their 8th wedding
anniversary. Steven went back to work at
the end of
February, after taking parental leave since August to help Meredith
with
Journey, who is pictured above. He
was very grateful
to have been home and seen all the
“firsts” that a baby has. Journey is
becoming very active and is a great joy to her parents.
The 3 of them went to B.C. for 31/2 weeks in
January and had a great visit. Journey
met Meredith’s Mom for the first time and it was love at first sight
for
both. They visited Sonya, Nick and
Kelsey while in BC as well.
