Thimble Cookies |
1 cup flour pinch salt 3/4 tsp baking powder 1/2 cup sugar 1 tsp vanilla 1/2 cup lard |
Sift first three, add sugar, work in lard as for pastry. Add egg and vanilla. Pinch a piece about the size of a large marble, set in pan, make a hole the size of a thimble and fill with jam or jelly. Bake in not too hot oven until risen, then increase the heat. |
