Gingerbread |
1/4 cup shortening 1/4 cup sugar 1 egg 3/4 cup molasses 3/4 cup milk 2 cups flour 1 tsp ginger 3/4 tsp cinnamon 1/4 tsp cloves 3/4 tsp soda 1 tsp salt |
Cream shortening, add sugar, gradually add egg and beat well. Stir in molasses into the milk, sift together the dry ingredients add alternately with the molasses mixture. Mix until smooth. Bake in greased layer or loaf pan or in muffin tins in moderate oven, 350. |
