Reg is still on medical leave and expects to be released within a year or so. Joy is still working on her career and will be taking a leadership course in Sept. She is also preparing to go to Kosovo or Bosnia next year.
Their 2 oldest, Andi & Brandi-Lee went for a visit to B.C. to see their Aunt Drinda for a few days. They also spent time with Sonya, Steven & Meredith. There was a birthday celebration for Joy at the Olive Garden restaurant in Edmonton in July. Jim & Maryann were there, as well as several of Joy's friends.
Trevor
Trevor has excellent news to report. On June 18th at 7:10 a.m. he was promoted to Master Corporal. It has been his goal since he joined the military nearly 9 years ago. When the rankings came out this year, Trevor was rated the top corporal in his battalion and across Canada his ranking is also high because only 14 corporals were promoted and he was one of them. Due to the promotion he has been moved from a Mortar Platoon to a Rifle Platoon.
He was in Ottawa for several days participating in the Canadian Forces Small Arms Competition. He was competing with a C7 rifle and
Sonya
Sonya has been expanding her duties at work at a steady pace, filling in for her boss while she is on a temporary assignment. She was asked to co-chair the United Way campaign for her district but turned that down for this year. She plans to be in Alberta & Sask for a visit in late July, early Aug.
Chris
Chris moved into his own apartment on June 1st and has requested and received his own "spot" in this family paper. He is pleased with his new place. His new address and phone # are: #304 - 166 Pinehouse Dr. Saskatoon, SK S7K 5H7, (306) 955-7326. Anyone who visits Saskatoon is welcome to stay with him as long as they want. He will treat you like royalty, cook gourmet meals, etc. (or not). He is still busy with his job and is happy to have the last term behind him. He has been in Edmonton a couple of times in the last couple of months to visit and drive Trevor to his flight.
Steven & Meredith
Steven was promoted to Assistant Manager of the Langley location for London Drugs in the computer
I heard from cousin Jos (Fred & Edna's) that her son Donnelly will be getting married on Aug. 14. He is going to the U. of Regina. Her other son, Harley, has returned to Sask from Texas where he had been playing professional hockey in the winter. He's now working at a John Deere dealer. His partner, Aimee, has been studying nursing. Jos' husband Don is still teaching in Lemberg. Jos works at the St. Paul Lutheran home there. They spend their spare time with their sports hobbies. Brian & Heather are still very busy with their guide work for About.Com on the internet. Brian is still taking his computer course and getting good marks.
Cousin Wendy, Dick & Chris are planning a busy summer. Dick & Chris went on a camping trip to Cypress Hills with Chris' class in June. Chris got his drivers licence and the family recently bought
