16 cm of "bad road". It will have to come out at some point. We had company in Oct. when my first boss ever, Ken Bamford from Sask Tel, came out to visit with his friend, Sylvie. They were here for a couple of days. We spent a week entertaining Allan & Carol in Oct. During that time I also went to a John McDermot concert with Carol and my friends Kevin & Lorraine. ![]() Brandy finished her summer courses and passed them both so her grade 12 is complete. Cory moved home for a short time, but has since moved into his own house with Amy. Big news at their house - they will be making Jackie & Wayne into grandparents in mid-April! Everyone is pretty excited about it, though Jackie still isn't sure how she feels about her soon to be new name - Grandma! Cory is working full time at the Army & Navy Veteran's Club and Amy is working as well. Denise went to spend a few days at Don & Trudy's in Aug, visiting her cousins. She has started at her new school and is enjoying it. There are a lot of teachers there from her old school and that makes it feel more like home. Wayne was very |
busy driving truck before his company closed down. Now he is concentrating on getting the house finished.
![]() Gerry spent most of the summer & fall dividing his time between the farm and the station. Diane & Gerry hosted a pot luck supper on Aug. 6th. It was very successful and well attended. They had Axel to stay for a few days at that time. Frank (and his shadow, Eric) had a busy summer. Frank left on Aug. 12 to spend a few days on a canoe trip in North Sask with the Youth Group from the Alliance Church. Niki got her ears pierced and attended "Play Time" in Strasbourg through the summer. She is also taking swimming lessons, which she enjoys very much. She recently began piano lessons and appears to be very talented in that direction. (That must come from Gerry's side!) Diane plans on taking Baseball Coaching classes this winter, due to a demand from the team. They all attended a family wedding (Ida's side) in Regina late in Aug. School started in Aug and Frank was busy trying out for the teams. He is on the volleyball team and is also coaching the girl's |
volleyball team. He also competed in "Pass, Punt & Kick" in Regina after winning the regionals. He placed 4th. Diane was asked to run for town council with the elections held at the end of Oct. She actually got the third most votes and is now a Councilor for the Town of Strasbourg! A political future perchance? DiGer Service was nominated in the Living Sky District for "Hospitality Business of the Year" Much to their surprise they took the top award, which was given out in Watrous in Oct. They got a beautiful trophy and their color picture on the front page of the Last Mountain Times! If I'm not mistaken she's the only member of our family to do that. Other than all that, they spent an awful lot of time supporting the veterinarian in Earl Grey with their various pet problems. I expect the vet will soon be building a new addition based on his earnings from their family. ![]() Wes Brevig has a new e-mail address: wbrevig@gov.calgary.ab.ca
